Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital is proud to be an American Animal Hospital Association Accredited Veterinary Hospital. This distinction is achieved by fewer than 15 percent of the animal hospitals throughout the United States.

We believe in the principles of professionalism, high standards of veterinary care, and excellence established by the AAHA and work very hard to maintain our accreditation with this organization. Every three years Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital is subject to a comprehensive evaluation and inspection by AAHA. This evaluation includes our record keeping, diagnostic capabilities, surgical and anesthetic procedures, facilities, quality of medicine practiced, pharmacy, emergency services, dentistry, nursing care, housekeeping, and continuing education of our medical staff.

Dr. Bruce Levinston and the staff of Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital take great pride in being part of the larger community of Bridgewater and Central New Jersey. From our success, we know that it is important for a thriving veterinary practice to be part of the community it serves. Without our friends and neighbors, we would not have been able to succeed over these many years.

We believe it is important for us to share our veterinary knowledge and expertise. Our popular FREE educational seminars include: Pet First Aid, Chiropractic & Senior Wellness, Fear-Free Technique, Canine & Human Blood Drives, and Dental Workshops. You may also come visit our booth in the Somerville, NJ Street Fair, Pet Expo, or Cat Show.

Our community Winter Holiday and Spring Open Houses are provided every other year. What to expect? Pet pictures with Santa or the Easter Bunny, Live Reindeer, Pet Egg Hunts, Behind-the-Scenes Hospital Tours, Raffles, Pet Adoptions, and much more. Stay tuned on our website’s “Upcoming Events” tab to see what’s happening next!

Volunteer Work:

Members of our staff volunteer, donate or in some way participate in our local libraries, schools, and civic organizations.

For example, we’ve worked with local shelters and rescues by providing regular wellness examinations, vaccines and surgeries. We also go to local schools to teach kids about pet care and discuss careers in veterinary medicine. Boy and Girl Scout troops come to our facility for tours and to learn about pet care and safety which leads to them receiving merit badges for these visits! We have partnered with American Red Cross and University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine for Human & Canine Blood Drives located at our hospital. We have raised funds for the "Paws for Minds" program from the organization AIR: Attitudes in Reverse which has educated some of our volunteer staff members to become Mental Health First Aid certified.

In all, Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital is very proud of our contributions to our communities in both financial and volunteer hours.

*We thank our partners Merck, Patterson, Elanco, Zoetis, CEVA, Live & Learn Dogs, Cherrybrook Pet Supplies, UPenn School of Veterinary Medicine, American Red Cross, St. Hubert's, Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, Outcast Rescue, and others!*
