Veterinarians

Bruce Levinston, DVM

Bruce Levinston, DVMDr. Bruce Levinston founded Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital in 1992. He has been a small animal veterinarian since 1989.

When asked what his early influences were that led him to become a veterinarian, Dr. Levinston says, “Actually, no one motivated me to become a veterinarian. I did not grow up on a farm or do 4H. It was actually more common for others to push me toward other professions. However, becoming a veterinarian was my passion from the start and I never showed much interest in any other profession. I always wanted to become a veterinarian and nothing would stop me.”

Dr. Levinston adds, “I love being able to make a difference in the life of a pet and his or her family. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement and relief when we are responsible for helping resolve a health issue for a family pet. For me, working in such a fulfilling profession is a lifelong dream: being among a team of medical professionals protecting the health and welfare of animals.”

In addition to his work at the Hospital, Dr. Levinston helps mentor young people interested in becoming veterinarians, is involved with animal shelters and humane societies in and around Bridgewater, and discusses animal care issues and animal care careers with school kids. He also takes advantage of numerous continuing education opportunities throughout the year and enjoys attending national conferences that cover a range of veterinary modalities. In all, he says, these activities play an important role in advancing his skills and keeping Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital at the leading edge of veterinary medicine.

A native of Edison, New Jersey, Dr. Levinston attended Ithaca College and then the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. His areas of particular professional interest include reproduction, cardiology, physical rehabilitation, and stem cell regeneration. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and the Metropolitan New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Levinston and his wife Roxanne, who works in sales, marketing and communications, have two sons, Max and Jack. They also provide a home for a yellow Labrador retriever named Sierra, grey and white cat named Dexter, and Bob, the hospital cat. His interests include photography, boating, gardening, wine tasting, travel, and being part of his kids’ sports and other activities.

Lynn Arbach, DVM

Lynn Arbach, DVM<A native of East Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Lynn Arbach is an Associate Veterinarian who has been practicing with Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital since 1997.

Asked what led her to become a veterinarian, Dr. Arbach says, “I have wanted to be a veterinarian since I was a child. However, the defining moment came when I was in college and a teacher’s assistant gave a speech to my class about trying to strive for your biggest goals because you don’t want to look back and regret not trying. I knew at that moment the direction I would be taking.”

Dr. Arbach attended Old Dominion University for her undergraduate studies where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1987. After a few years working at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Ohio, as a laboratory technician in the National Toxicology Program, she entered Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Kimberly Weisner, DVM

Kimberly Weisner, DVMDr. Kimberly Weisner is a General Practitioner who has been a member of the Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital medical staff since March of 2006.

As a child growing up in South Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Weisner was always drawn toward animals and felt it was her natural calling to provide care for them. She was further aided in her journey toward becoming a veterinarian, she says, by parents who taught her she could do anything she put her mind to.

Soon after becoming a veterinarian, she had the pleasure of working with many police dogs as well as being involved with the national police dog championship trials. The most unique opportunity, however, was the chance to volunteer at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks to help the search and rescue dogs. "That will always be an unforgettable experience for me," she says.

Dr. Weisner attended Cook College at Rutgers University for her undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 1995. During her studies she received the George H. Cook Honors Program Award, Cook College Four Year General Honors Program Award, Cook Leadership Excellence Award, Department of Animal Science Academic & Research Award, Department of Animal Science Service Award, and the Cook Alumni Association Award.

In 1995, Dr. Weisner entered Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Her areas of special professional interest include dermatology and nutrition. She is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Weisner’s husband, Chris, is also a veterinarian and the couple has two young children, Michael and Emily. They also provide a home for a West Highland White Terrier named Molly, a Cairn Terrier named Charlie, a Senegal Parrot named Steven (aka Stinky), and a number of fish.

"I was also a 4-H member as a child and loved watching my uncle race horses at the county fairs." During college, Dr. Watts worked at a local veterinary hospital, peaking her interest in pursuing a veterinary career.
